Mindy Tran is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist whose goal is to support the folks she works with through trauma-informed and inclusive practices. Mindy believes that healing and transformation are possible when we work with the whole self, including the mind, body, and spirit, as well as our identities, lived experiences, and our ancestry. Mindy aims to raise awareness of how the parts of ourselves intersect with one another and how those intersections show up within us, our relationships, our responses to stress and triggers, and other aspects of our lives.
Mindy utilizes narrative therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in her work. Mindy also incorporates mindfulness exercises and body-inclusive movement as a way to practice grounding, soothe the nervous system, increase body awareness, and explore embodiment. Mindy is also trained in EMDR and utilizes this therapy treatment when working with folks who are experiencing psychological distress rooted in past traumas.
Mindy has a Master’s degree in Couples and Family Therapy from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UC San Diego. Additionally, Mindy has nearly ten years of experience in teaching yoga with an emphasis on trauma-informed accessible yoga, restorative yoga, and trauma-sensitive mindfulness.
